Karl Pei's upcoming consumer technology company, raised $15 million in Series A funding, led by GV, formerly known as Google Ventures.

The UK-based company adds that the latest funding will enable it to expand its team and operations and further invest in Research and Development (R&D).

"We are happy to announce that we have raised $15 million in a Series A funding round led by @GVteam propelling us forward on our journey," the company tweeted on Tuesday.

This financing comes on heels of securing $7 million in seed financing from a clutch of prominent investors including iPod inventor Tony Fadell, Twitch cofounder Kevin Lin, Reddit chief executive Steve Huffman, PCH founder and chief executive Liam Casey, Cred founder Kunal Shah, prominent YouTuber Casey Neistat, Product Hunt chief executive Josh Buckley, and Web Summit founder Paddy Cosgrave.

"Nothing" is developing a pair of wireless headphones along with a suite of smart, connected consumer electronics that is expected to debut later this year, according to a Bloomberg report.

“We’re building an ecosystem of smart devices,” Pei said in an interview Friday. “We’ll start with simpler products, wireless earbuds. We’re going to have multiple products throughout the year, not just audio products, and eventually we want to build it so these devices talk to each other.”

At the end of last year, Carl Pei left OnePlus after almost seven years with the company. It was during Pei's time at OnePlus that the company launched a series of notable Android phones - from the original OnePlus phone to the late OnePlus 8T. It is also believed that the development of a mid-range Android phone, OnePlus Nord, was closely monitored by Pei.
